XAS study of Ag/NiO/α-Fe2O3 systems grown by dual ion-beam assisted deposition varying the magnonic response

We propose both XANES and EXAFS experiments at the Ni K-edge (8333 eV), Fe k-edge (7112 eV) and Ag K-edge (25514 eV) of epitaxial Ag/NiO/α-Fe2O3 heterostructures grown on α-Al2O3(0001), α-Al2O3(1-102), SrTiO3(111), LaAlO3(111), and MgO(111) substrates varying the layer thicknesses. An investigation of the oxidation state of the Ag cations as a function of the growth temperature (300 and 500 ºC), the type of oxide substrate and its crystallographic orientation, as well as the local order and the disorder into the lattice for the Ag and the NiO and α-Fe2O3 layers will be carried out. A possible interdiffusion of the Ag cations into the NiO structure is possible during the post annealing temperature as well as of the Ni and Fe cations between them. In addition, the other possible phase, mainly in the case of the iron oxide layer will be investigated, which is essential due to their not antiferromagnetic character.This investigation will allow the determination of the main parameters influencing the optical, magnetic and spintronic properties measured previously in our laboratory for spinplasmonic applications.
