Six mathnawîs by Farîd-aldîn ‘Aṭṭâr.

This splendid old copy, written by Muḥammad Ḥâjî bin Bâbâ Ḥâjî between A.H. 807 and 812 (A.D. 1405-1410), contains:

1.Ushturnâma or Shuturnâma (شترنامه), on fol. 1b.

2.Asrârnâma, on fol. 116b. This part is dated the 20th of Rajab, A.H. 807 (A.D. 1405, January 22).

3a.Ilâhînâma, on fol. 196b, beginning here:

بنام كردگار هفت افلاك

كه پيدا كرد آدم از كفى خاك

Dated the 20th of Ramaḍân, A.H. 807 (A.D. 1405, March 22).

4.Bulbulnâma, on fol. 279b, beginning (without the usual ḥamd):

همه مرگان بدرگاه سليمان

شدند و داشتند از بلبل افغان

3b.Khuṭba-i-Ilâhînâma (خطبۀ الهى نامه), the usual introduction to the Ilâhînâma, left out in 3a, on fol.283b, beginning (with a slight modification in the second hemistich, see Rieu ii. p. 576a):

الهى نامه را آغاز كردم – در گنج سعادت باز كردم

5.Muṣibatnâma, on fol. 289b.

6.Waṣlatnâma, on fol. 386b. This part is dated the first of Dhû-alḳa’dah, A.H. 812 (A.D. 1410, March 7).

This MS. appears to be the first part or first volume only of a complete collection or كلّيّات of Farîd-aldîn ‘Aṭṭâr’s works, as the index on ff. 1a and 1b (margin-column) indicates. A more detailed, although not complete, index of the contents of this MS. is found on one of the fly-leaves. Bibliotheca Leydeniana.
