Whole genome sequence of Chlorella sp. strain J1

Chlorella is a unicellular green alga and some species (strain) of Chlorella are known as endosymbiont of protists and animals. To clarify the differences between free-living species and endosymbiotic species, we performed whole genome sequencing of one free-living strain and three endosymbiotic species of Paramecium bursaria, Mayorella viridis, and Stentor sp. for comparative genomic analyses. In this project, we sequenced the genome of Chlorella sp. strain J1, which is endosymbiont of Paramecium bursaria.
