青藏高原作为“世界屋脊”和“亚洲水塔”,其独特的云系分布对区域乃至全球的能量收支与水循环具有至关重要的影响。深入研究该地区不同云类型(高、中、低云)的云量特征,对于理解高原的热力动力作用、改善气候模式的模拟能力以及预测东亚地区水资源变化具有关键的科学价值。本数据集基于CERES卫星观测的云顶温度、云光学厚度及云量数据,结合Bao等人提出的云分类算法,生成了月平均云量产品。该数据集空间分辨率为1°,时间分辨率为月平均。云量单位为百分比(%),涵盖三种类型:高云量(HCC)、中云量(MCC)和低云量(LCC)。

As the "Roof of the World" and "Asian Water Tower", the Tibetan Plateau has a unique cloud system distribution that exerts a crucial impact on regional and even global energy budget and water cycle. In-depth study of the cloud cover characteristics of different cloud types (high, middle, low clouds) in this region is of critical scientific value for understanding the thermodynamic effects of the plateau, improving the simulation capability of climate models, and predicting changes in water resources in East Asia. This dataset is generated based on CERES satellite-observed cloud top temperature, cloud optical thickness and cloud cover data, combined with the cloud classification algorithm proposed by Bao et al., to produce monthly mean cloud cover products. The spatial resolution of this dataset is 1°, and the temporal resolution is monthly mean. The unit of cloud cover is percentage (%), and it covers three types: High Cloud Cover (HCC), Middle Cloud Cover (MCC) and Low Cloud Cover (LCC).
