Dataset Supporting the Paper "Alpha Core–Beam Origin in Low-β Solar Wind Plasma: Insights from Fully Kinetic Simulation"

This is the restricted dataset used to produce the figures in the Results section of the paper (https://doi.org/10.3847/1538-4357/ae27a3). Below, I provide a brief description of the contents of each file and indicate which figures they correspond to. All quantities are expressed in code units, which are extensively explained in the paper. All .dat files include, in the first line, a header describing the physical quantities associated with each column. The .h5 files contain a more complex internal header, which can be accessed using any standard HDF5 reader such as HDFView. Files used for Figure 5: energy_thermal.dat: Contains the time series of the thermal energies in the parallel and perpendicular directions for the different particle species (0 = electrons, 1 = protons, 2 = alpha particles). energy_kinetic.dat: Contains the time series of the kinetic energies for the same particle species. energy_bulk.dat: Contains the time series of the bulk (or drift) energy for all particle species. energy_fields.dat: Contains the time series of the integrated field and plasma energies (magnetic, electric, kinetic). fluid.dat: Contains the bulk (drift) speeds of the different particle species. Files used for Figures 6 and 7: By_xt_stacked.dat: Space–time stacking of the By component of the magnetic field. Bz_xt_stacked.dat: Space–time stacking of the Bz component of the magnetic field. rho2_xt_stacked.dat: Space–time stacking of the alpha-particle density. Files used for Figures 8–11: ms_1d_Dsample-Partcl_*.h5: Contains phase-space information for a reduced subset of Lagrangian particles, chosen to preserve statistical properties while reducing disk usage. These files are used to compute the VDFs of alpha particles and protons, as well as the field–particle correlator.
