Gut- associated IgA immune populations regulate obesity related insulin resistance

Sequencing of gut microbiota of IgA-deficient and WT mice fed a HFD. The intestinal immune system is emerging as an important contributor to obesity related insulin resistance but the role of gut B cells is unknown. though little is known about how diet-induced obesity shapes intestinal B cell populations. In this study, we show that intestinal IgA-producing immune cells cell populations are altered during high fat diet (HFD) feeding and that IgA is a critical immune regulator of glucose homeostasis.
