Dataset of the Psychosocial Impact of Dental Aesthetics among Dominican University Students (PIDAQ Study)

Description:
This dataset contains the anonymized responses of undergraduate students from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), Dominican Republic, who participated in a cross-sectional study evaluating the psychosocial impact of dental aesthetics using the Psychosocial Impact of Dental Aesthetics Questionnaire (PIDAQ). The data include sociodemographic variables (age, gender, academic program), self-reported history of orthodontic treatment, previous esthetic dental procedures, and satisfaction with dental appearance. Additionally, the dataset includes all item-level responses for the four PIDAQ domains: Dental Self-Confidence, Social Impact, Psychological Impact, and Aesthetic Concern.

All data were collected anonymously through an online survey (Google Forms) between June and August 2024. No personal identifiers are included. The dataset is provided in CSV/Excel format and can be used for replication purposes, secondary analyses, validation studies, or comparative research on dental esthetics and psychosocial well-being.
