This volume contains material collected for incorporation in a history of the Government Printing Office, 1918, including information obtained from the Registrar General's Department regarding George Howe (the first printer and newspaper proprietor in New South Wales), extracts from Governor's despatches, R.A.H.S. proceedings and Historical Records of Australia concerning the establishment of a government printing press, the printing and distribution of government documents in the Colony, copies of requisitions for printing type, proceedings in civil cases in which articles published in the Sydney Gazette were involved (eg. Marsden and Campbell, 1817), shipment of printing supplies from England, etc. A printed copy of the Government Printing Office history is included. (1/1). 1 vol.
