Microplastic data were collected for two material types: PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and expanded polystyrene (EPS) in sizes of 500, 1000, and 1500 micrometers. Measurements were performed using an electronic tongue and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Each sample consist on 500 c.c. of water and 1.4 g of each material according to the following description: (i) Water. (ii) Water with inert organic matter. (iii) Water with inert organic matter plus inorganic matter. (iiii) Water with inert organic matter plus inorganic matter and organic matter. Conventions: Wt: Water Mp: Microplastic. IOM: Inert organic matter. INM: Inorganic matter. LOM: Living organic matter File water.xlsx includes the baseline (only water) and the folders PET.zip and ESP.zip inclides the data for PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and expanded polystyrene (EPS) respectively.
