资源简介:
This script and dataset belongs to a project examining which white matter disconnections following a unilateral stroke lesion lead to deficits in single-digit multiplication. First, unilateral voxel-based lesion symptom mapping was carried out on white disconnection maps using NiiStat (https://github.com/neurolabusc/NiiStat). White matter disconnection maps were created using the Lesion Quantification Toolkit (Griffis, J. C., Metcalf, N. V., Corbetta, M., & Shulman, G. L. (2021). Lesion Quantification Toolkit: A MATLAB software tool for estimating grey matter damage and white matter disconnections in patients with focal brain lesions. NeuroImage: Clinical, 30, 102639.) and the HCP-842 (Yeh, F. C., Panesar, S., Fernandes, D., Meola, A., Yoshino, M., Fernandez-Miranda, J. C., ... & Verstynen, T. (2018). Population-averaged atlas of the macroscale human structural connectome and its network topology. Neuroimage, 178, 57-68.) as the underlying white matter atlas. Results indicate significant voxels in the left arcuate fasciculus, temporopontine tract, and U-fibers. It was concluded that disconnection of these areas lead to a multiplication deficit. The results can be found in the folder "NiiStat results". A second analysis followed a disconnectome approach, whereby the disconnection of brain parcels was examined. Brain parcels were derived from the brainnetome atlas (Fan, L., Li, H., Zhuo, J., Zhang, Y., Wang, J., Chen, L., ... & Jiang, T. (2016). The human brainnetome atlas: a new brain atlas based on connectional architecture. Cerebral cortex, 26(8), 3508-3526.). A permutation analysis identified disconnections that were significantly associated with a multiplication deficit; once at a threshold of p = .05, and once at p = .01. The results can be found in the folders "Edges_p_05" and "Edges_p_01". Results suggest that especially disconnections of the left thalamus as well as the left IPS are associated with a multiplication deficit. The newest folder includes new analyses, as we created custom R-scripts to examine our data with bayesian statistics.
