Choline mediates deoxycholic acid to relieve colitis via the gut-liver axis

In the first experiment, 16 multiparous Hu-sheep of similar body weight at 108 days of gestation were selected and fed ad libitum for 7 days to determine their feed intake. They were then randomly divided into a control (CON) group (ad libitum feeding) and a severe undernutrition (SUN) group (30% of ad libitum feed intake) for 15 days.In the second experiment, 16 multiparous Hu-sheep of similar body weight at 108 days of gestation were also selected and fed ad libitum for 7 days to determine their feed intake. They were then randomly divided into an undernutrition (UN) group (50% of free-feeding amount) and a rumen-protected choline (RPC) group (50% of free-feeding amount + 15 g/d rumen-protected choline (20% choline)), for 9 days.
