Note: Veröffentlicht (HB, Juli 1861, Nr. 7). - Dazugehöriger Text: "Das obenstehende Bild ist nach einer Photographie gemacht, welche Dr. Locher vom englischen Fort aus aufgenommern hat. Die Ringmauer dieser kleinen, etwas erhöhten Festung mit den ausgehauenen steinernen Pfeilern sieht man ganz im Vordergrund. Von da aus erblickt man unter sich das Basler Missionshaus mit seinen nächsten Umgebungen, sodann das Meer und jenseits die Gebirge. ... Weiter nach rechts sieht man auf dem Gebirge etliche Gebäude. Das ist das holländische Fort. Dann folgt ein hoch emporsteigender einzelner Bergrücken, - der Berg Hums. Rechts daneben erblickt man die neue Wohnung eines Mulatten-Kaufmanns, Namens Lutterodt. Endlich der hellere Bergzug im Hintergrund zur äussersten Rechten ist das Gebirge jenseits des Flusses Humo oder Satumo. ... Das kleine Haus mit dem schrägen Vordach ist die Wohnung des Dr. Hanson, eines Mulatten. Links davon steht die Ruine eines Hauses, das einst Herrn Lutterodt gehörte und bei der Beschiessung Christiansborgs halb zerstört wurde. [...]"; Note translation: Published ('Heidenbote', July 1861, Nr. 7). - Caption there: "This picture is based on a photograph taken by Dr [sic] Locher from the English fort. You can see, right in the foreground, the defensive wall of this small, built-up castle, with [some of] its carved stone pillars. Beyond that one looks down on the Basel Mission House and its surroundings, then comes the sea, and beyond the sea the hills. To the right one sees some buildings on the hills - this is the Dutch Fort. Behind it the steep hill is called 'Hums'. To the right again one sees the new house of a mulatto merchant called Lutterodt. Finally the lighter-coloured row of hills in the background on the extreme right is the other side of the River Satumo or Hums. ... The small building with a sloping porch is the house of a mulatto, Dr. Hanson. On its left is a ruined house which once belonged to Mr Lutterodt, and which was half destroyed during the bombardment of Christiansborg.
