Gray wolf genomic history reveals a dual ancestry of dogs

Ancient DNA from the remains of 67 gray wolves and one dhole was extracted and sequenced using short read technology, achieving a median endogenous coverage of approximately 1X. The remains included span the last 100,000 years and are from a large number of different locations across the northern hemisphere.
