Atomic Structure and In Situ Visualization of Native PMEL Lamellae in Melanosomes

Human melanoma cell line SK-MEL-28 is used to extract native PMEL fibrils. Based on cryo-EM data collection and processing, the structural map showing the whole PMEL lamella was obtained. The resolution is 4.94 Å (PMEL fibril lamella map.mrc). Furthermore, after a series of local refinement processes, the structural map of three adjacent units within one fibril was obtained and shown here. The resolution is 3.48 Å (PMEL fibril map.mrc). Finally, the atomic model was built based on the PMEL fibril map (PMEL_model.pdb).
