Raw data Acid sulfate soils and their pathways of impact- a Swedish case study

This study is an initial report on the situation in an estuary affected by acidic sulfate soils in an area of Sweden where this has not been investigated before. The study clearly states that metals and acidic effluents from the agricultural acidic sulfate soil are transported via riverine water to the adjacent estuary where metals accumulate in the sediment and biota. This has strong adverse effects on the aquatic flora and fauna, and may impose a risk on several trophic levels.
