The scale 1:25 000 is created by increasing the scale 1:50 000. The sheet section of the Austrian map 1:25 000V is 10‘x12’ and is based on round geographical grid lines. The average area of a leaf area bounded by the grid lines is 280 km². The federal territory is covered with 356 map sheets. The Austrian card 1:25 000V has the same numbering system as the ÖK50. Since an ÖK25V sheet consists of the east or west half of an ÖK50, the sheet number still contains the addition West or East.
