Cosimo De Giorgi e Antonio Stoppani: itinerari di viaggio

This essay firstly compares the best-known works of two Italian scientists, Il Bel Paese by Antonio Stoppani (1824-1891) and La Provincia di Lecce. Bozzetti di viaggio, by Cosimo De Giorgi (1842-1922), taking into account their similarities and differences. Secondly, it highlights the personal relationships between the two scholars through their membership of the same scientific societies and the letters they wrote to each other between 1875 and 1876.
