In a survey on skincare and beauty products conducted by Rakuten Insight, as of July 2021, 56 percent of female Malaysian respondents would try a Korean beauty product if it was recommended to them by family and friends. Korean beauty products, also known as K-beauty, has gained in popularity and market share over the years, especially in Asia. K-beauty products were perceived by Asian customers to better meet their skincare needs.
