Station K: Level-0 subsurface mooring time series in the western tropical Indian Ocean, 2019-2024

Station K is a subsurface mooring located in the western tropical Indian Ocean (8°S, 61°E), at a total depth of 3085 meters. It was deployed to monitor long-term variability in intermediate and deep ocean circulation and associated hydrographic properties. Unprocessed (Level-0) time series data collected from May 9, 2019 to June 7, 2024 via three deployment cycles are released here. Over the three deployments, the mooring system was progressively upgraded in terms of sensor configuration and vertical resolution. Temporal sampling intervals of sensors were typically 1800 or 1200 seconds during the first two deployments, while those during the third deployment they were occasionally shortened to 300 seconds or remained longer depending on sensor type and configuration. No quality control or calibration has been applied; the dataset is provided in its original raw form. The quality-controlled and quality-assured dataset and sensor drift-calibrated dataset will be released separately.
