FactA Dataset

The FACTA dataset consists of 169 news stories selected from the Ita-TimeBank, 120 Wikinews articles, and 301 tweets, annotated with event factuality information. <p>The factuality profiling is represented by means of three attributes associated to event mentions, namely: certainty, time, and polarity. The dataset has been created and used in the context of the FACTA task (https://facta-evalita2016.fbk.eu), organised as part of the EVALITA 2016 evaluation campaign (​​http://www.evalita.it/2016). The task aimed at evaluating systems for the identification of the factuality profiling of events. The Main Task of FactA focused on the newswire domain; the training and test datasets are both composed of news articles (65,053 and 15,676 tokens, respectively). In addition to this, the task also comprehended a Pilot Task on factuality profiling on social media texts (in particular, Tweets; 4,920 tokens).
