Physical Habitat Assessment of Aqua Hedionda Creek, Dawson-Los Monos Canyon Reserve

Data were collected from four sites in Aqua Hedionda Creek, semi-annually in Spring and Fall, and at least 6 weeks after a significant rain event. The stream's physical habitat assessment included: substrate complexity, embeddedness, velocity, seidment deposition, channel flow, channel alteration, frequency of riffles, bank stability, vegetative protection, and riparian vegetative zone width. These data were collected to assess the general health of Aqua Hedionda Creek, the quality of the creek's invertebrate habitat, and to produce long-term monitoring data as part of a standardized approach used throughout San Diego County.
