A new coordination polymer (CP) [Co(HTATB)(H2O)](DMF)2 (1, DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide) based on the {Co2(CO2)4} binuclear secondary building unit (SBU) has been successfully prepared by using a light-harvesting triphenylamine type organic ligand 4,4′,4″-s-triazine-2,4,6-triyltribenzoic acid (H3TATB). Furthermore, complex 1 has significant photocatalytic activity under visible light for the degradation of organic dyes such as rhodamine B (RhB), methylene blue (MB) as well as methyl orange (MO) assisted by H2O2. Furthermore, the anti-osteoporosis activity of complex 1 was evaluated. First, the inhibitory effect of complex 1 on the BMSCs apoptosis was measured by Annexin V-FITC/PI method. Then, the RT-PCR was performed to detect the relative expressions level of wnt/β-catenin and PPARγ after complex 1 treatment. The hypothesis that arises from the experimental observation has been further investigated by using molecular docking simulation, where the possible binding interactions between the ligand and Wnt protein are studied explicitly.
