This dataset contains concentrations of heavy metals and metalloids measured in surface soil samples collected across five sites representing a flood-risk gradient (low to high exposure) in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, USA. Six replicate surface soil samples were collected at each site (n = 30 total samples). Samples were analyzed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) following standardized acid digestion procedures. The dataset includes concentrations (reported in parts per billion, ppb) for the following analytes: arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), lead (Pb), lithium (Li), nickel (Ni), phosphorus (P), thallium (Tl), and zinc (Zn). Site classifications correspond to relative flood exposure based on proximity to floodplain zones and hydrological connectivity. This dataset was used to calculate chronic daily intake (CDI), hazard quotients (HQ), and lifetime cancer risk estimates as part of a screening-level risk assessment. The data are provided to support reproducibility and transparency of the analyses presented in the associated manuscript.
