Profiling of the gut microbiota of fish across the Xiangjiang River Basin in Hunan Province, China

A total of 52 fish samples (4 fish samples per site) were collected from 13 sampling sites across the Xiangjiang River Basin in Hunan Province, including Dong'an (DA), Lingling (LL), Changning (CN), Zhuzhou (ZZ), Wangcheng (WC), Xiangyin (XY), Shuangpai (SP), Guiyang (GY), Yongxing (YX), Zixing (ZX), Chaling (CL), Xiangxiang (XX), and Changsha (CS) from May to July 2023. The sampled fish was anesthetized and dissected, and the hindgut was isolated and the content was collected to conduct microbiota diversity analysis based on 16S rRNA sequencing technology.
