Financial structure, theories and SMEs' adaptation to climate risk: a systematic literature review of empirical and theoretical insights from 1990 to 2024

This data was used to investigate how financial structures have been applied to support SMEs in developing countries to adapt to climate-related risk, and to identify the underlying financial structure theories that support SMEs' adaptation actions to climate-related risk through financial structure. This systematic literature review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. The review protocol was prospectively registered with the Open Science Framework (Uba 2025).
