This dataset originates from a study investigating the surface chemistry at gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) during Turkevich regrowth conditions. Data were obtained using multi-layered AuNP aggregates ('MLagg') with citrate surface functionalisation. Spectro-electrochemical experiments included real-time surface-enhanced Raman scattering (785 nm excitation) and open-circuit potential (OCP) monitoring. The dataset includes raw and processed SERS spectra, OCP, and extinction spectra. Metadata cover electrolyte composition, applied potentials, scan rates, and ligand concentrations. These data provide a reusable resource for understanding the surface chemistry of gold nanoparticles during synthesis.
