NRS-14138 | File movement registers

The registers for 1923-39 record: current number, previous number, reference to card, from, date, subject, location of file, approval and notation as to further registration. From 1940 onwards, current number, former papers, reference to card, notations and further registration only are given. The registers from 1940 to 1949, in addition, are separated into A and B registers. The A Registers record correspondence from New South Wales Government Departments, other States and the Commonwealth Government. The B Registers record correspondence from individual banks, sub-departments of the Treasury, Government Insurance Office, Premier's Department, the Police Department and other groups related to revenue.
