Genome annotation of Drosophila melanogaster microsporidia: Tubulinosema ratisbonensis. Tubulinosema ratisbonensis genome survey

We report the draft genome sequence of Tubulinosema ratisbonensis which was isolated from Drosophila melanogaster. After 454 and Illumina sequencing, genome was assembled using Newbler and Genious algorithms. Potential CDS were predicted using personal script that combines homology search and Glimmer’s ab initio gene prediction algorithm associated with the detection of CCC and GGG motifs found in close proximity of microsporidian transcription initiation sites. The functional annotation was conducted using Blast2Go tool using default parameters.
