Chinese loess soil microbiomes

Chinese loess, as an excellent recorder of paleoclimate change, is widely used to reveal monsoon variability over a range of timescales. However, the usefulness of soil microbiomes for understanding paleoclimate remains unclear. Here, a typical Luochuan section with an internationally recognized chronology was taken as the research object, and loess-paleosol microbiomes were investigated to better understand the evolutionary characteristics and indicative role of microorganisms in paleoclimate variation.
