Metagenomes of whole surface ocean water were collected via Niskin rosette casts during the research cruise JR18001 (AMT28). Metagenomic libraries were generated through Illumina Nextera DNA tagmentation followed by PCR annealing of unique dual index barcodes. Libraries were bead-cleaned, quantified, and pooled at equimolar concentration. Pooled libraries were sequenced for 150 bp PE reads on an Illumina NovaSeq6000 S4 flow cell with 300 cycles.
