Wind direction, M'Bour, Senegal

Wind direction was measured at 0.1 Hz using a Gill 2D-type Windsonic anemometer (Campbell® Scientific Instruments). The anemometer was located on the roof of a building (i.e. at about 10 m above the ground level) of the geophysical station of the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) installed in a nature reserve of 50 ha, and 80 m from the seaside. The wind direction in degrees was recorded as 5 min averages using a CR200 datalogger (Campbell® Scientific Instruments) and is distributed as 1 hour averages (UTC). The value reported for 01:00UTC represents the average over the past hour and so on (the number of values used to compute the average is given for each time step).
