Genomic sequencing of prasinovirus enrichment cultures from the South China Sea targeting Mamiellales picoalgae

Virus enrichment cultures were obtained from South China Sea by exposing isolated strains of the picoalgae genera Bathycoccus, Ostreococcus, Mantoniella and Micromonas to seawater filtered through 0.45 micrometer pore size and observing for cell lysis. Genome sequencing and assembly was performed on these viral lysates.
