German Module Description Database

This database export contains four CSV tables that store data extracted from module handbooks from 73 German study programs related to research software engineering (RSE) as part of a master's thesis. "extracted_modules.csv" contains the module key, title, content and target descriptions, and ECTS values as they were extracted from the PDF handbook documents. "modules.csv" contains a canonical version of the same data where duplicate entries are collapsed, as well as cleaned text fields for title, content, and target texts where boilerplate text and PDF artifacts have been removed. "programs" contains the metadata of all 73 study programs and "program_modules" contains the mapping of canonical module descriptions to study programs, resolving the duplicate collapsed modules that are shared by multiple study programs at the same university.
