Reference genome for the African Ankole cattle (Bos taurus indicus breed. Ankole cattle (Bos taurus indicus) reference genome

This is the reference de novo assembly of an African Ankole cattle (Bos taurus indicus using 40X long reads for the assembly, 100X Bionano optical mapping scaffolding and 60X short reads for polishing. The assembly has been generated using both CANU and WTDBG2. Both assemblies have been polished using WTPOA_CNS. Consensus between the two assemblies have been achieved with quickmerge, and new contigs have been scaffolded with Bionano Solve v3.3.1. Finally gaps have been filled with LR GapCloser and polishing have been carried out with Pilon v1.23.0
