Study of intestinal flora and metabolomics in children with damp-heat constipation

In this study, we collected children with damp-heat and balanced constitution using the Constitutional Medicine Questionnaires and diagnosed functional constipation using the Roman Standard IV. Intestinal flora and metabolomics analysis were determined in children with constipation of damp-heat constitution, using children of balanced constitution who were not constipated as controls.This multi-omics investigation delineates the pathophysiological characteristics of constipation in damp-heat constitution children, proposing novel therapeutic targets through TCM constitution-based microbial-metabolite interactions.
