Gene Donaldson Collection

<p>The Gene Donaldson Collection consists of 2 folders of 4x5 and 5x7 black and white photographic prints and 20 strips of 35mm black and white copy negatives of various United States Army, Navy, and privately owned airplanes and airships. These items were copied by the donor and the owner of the original album, Mr. Ted Lueders (deceased), while both were employees of Union Electric. </p>

<p>In addition to the various models of airplanes which include Bombers, Tri-Motors, and 2 Engine planes, is an undated balloon show where two models of the Goodyear blimp are featured. A significant amount of these planes have been photographed at Lambert Field, now known as Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. However, some of the images where taken at different fields, which include the Transcontinental and Western Air, Inc. and the 35th Aviation Missouri National Guard fields. Among the field landings, are also notable airline companies, American Airlines and Universal Airlines. This collection also includes airplane models from Robertson Aircraft Co. and Curtiss Wright airline companies. </p>
