Every year, across each landscape type the management of Klaserie Private Nature Reserve conduct Veld Condition assessments in each of they landtypes. THe VCA's performed are done using the same methods as the orignal VCA's done in the Kruger National Park. Each VCA consists of 100 points were the nearest grass is recorded at each point and a biomass reading is taken. The grasses are identified if they belong to a list of 18 key species. If the grasses do not fall into that category they are recorded as other. All forbs are refered to as forbs. THe biomaass of the grass is recorded using a disc pasture meter
