Data for "Divergent humidity-driven growth in urban air-conditioning energy demand under climate change"

This dataset contains the simulation results reported and analyzed in Li et al. (2026), "Divergent humidity-driven growth in urban air-conditioning energy demand under climate change", accepted and in press at Nature Cities. It contains global daily mean projections of urban 2-meter air temperature, urban 2-meter relative humidity, urban air-conditioning energy demand flux, sensible heat load component of urban air-conditioning energy demand flux, and atmospheric pressure at surface simulated by an updated Community Earth System Model (CESM) under SSP3-7.0. Details about how this dataset was generated are described in the article. This dataset may be useful for communities interested in future energy risks, climate change impacts and vulnerability, and climate-sensitive adaptation and energy planning.
