Goat production volume in Ethiopia 2010-2020

The production volume of goats intended for slaughter in Ethiopia reached nearly 17.4 million heads in 2020. Compared to the previous year, this was an increase of almost 3.7 percent. Since 2010, the number of goat heads butchered for meat production in the country has been on the rise, with the most significant year-on-year growth (29.3 percent) occurring in 2019. Goats were the second largest slaughtered livestock for meat in Ethiopia.
