Replication Data for Erectile dysfunction and psychosocial outcomes following priapism treatment: A retrospective study

This dataset contains anonymized data collected for the study titled “Erectile Dysfunction and Psychosocial Outcomes Following Priapism Treatment: A Retrospective Study.” The study was conducted at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana and includes data from male patients treated for priapism between October 30, 2015, and January 8, 2023. The dataset covers:
• Demographic information: Age at the time of priapism episodes, current age, and sickle cell disease status.
• Clinical characteristics: Etiology of priapism, treatment modalities used, and time to treatment.
• Erectile dysfunction severity: Assessed using the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5).
• Psychosocial outcomes: Including relational, psychological, and reproductive impacts.

The data has been fully anonymized to ensure confidentiality and was collected in compliance with ethical approval from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Institutional Review Board (Approval No. KBTH-IRB 000104/2023). It is intended to provide insights into the long-term effects of priapism management on erectile function and psychosocial well-being, particularly in resource-limited settings.
