The project aimed to gain insights into the medium-chain fatty acid degradation of Cupriavidus necator (synonym: Ralstonia eutropha). Whole-genome expression compared between cells grown in mineral salts medium with octanoic acid samples, nonanoic acid, or sodium-gluconate as the sole carbon source. The influence of the deletion of the operons described for long-chain fatty acid degradation on the expression profile was simultaneously investigated.
