In this research, experiments were conducted to study the role of the host plant during G. diazotrophicus colonization establishment in a new monocot model plant, Brachypodium distachyon. The gene expression profile of B. distachyon root tissues colonized by G. diazotrophicus was generated via next generation RNA sequencing and then investigated through gene ontology and metabolic pathway analysis.
