Vehicle Detection in Aerial Imagery (VEDAI）

In our experiments, we utilized the well-known Vehicle Detection in Aerial Imagery (VEDAI) dataset, which consists of cropped images derived from the larger Utah Automated Geographic Reference Center (AGRC) dataset. Each image collected at the same altitude in the AGRC dataset has a resolution of approximately 16,000 × 16,000 pixels, with a spatial resolution of around 12.5 cm × 12.5 cm per pixel. RGB and IR are the two modalities for each image captured in the same scene. The VEDAI dataset comprises 1,246 smaller images that focus on diverse backgrounds including grasslands, highways, mountainous areas, and urban regions. All images have a resolution of either 1024 × 1024 or 512 × 512 pixels. The task is to detect 11 distinct vehicle categories, such as cars, pickup trucks, campers, and trucks.
