EDP Foz-Tua: Phytobenthos – Ecological Monitoring Program – Exploration Phase [2018-2020]

The dataset contains records of Phytobenthos (Diatoms) collected in the watershed of River Tua, and included in the Ecological Monitoring Program of the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Foz Tua Hydroelectric Dam, promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. Data were collected in the springs of 2018-2020 during field visits to two sampling points, upstream the reservoir, in rivers Tua and Tinhela. The first phase of the Ecological Monitoring Program (2018-2020) aims to evaluate the impacts of dam exploration in the water quality of the river. The occurrence of the target taxa was documented through 4777 records of species presence and number of individuals (valve counts).
