Whole genomic sequences of Lactic acid bacteria isolated from Freshwater locations in Iceland

Whole genome sequences were obtained for lactic acid bacterial isolates from freshwater locations in Iceland. Objectives were, firstly a taxonomic search for new species and subspecies and, secondly, bioinformatical evaluation of potential of isolates as starter cultures in plant-based fermented foods. Isolates were obtained with permissions from landowners, National Energy Authority and Natural Science Institute of Iceland.
