Multi-niche mother-infant microbiota transfer and development.

This project includes raw sequence data from the Microbiome Utrecht Infant Study (MUIS). Samples were collected from from mothers and infants from multiple body niches and at multiple timepoints. For the current analyses, we included infant samples obtained from the nasopharynx, saliva, faeces and skin within two hours postpartum (d0), 24-36 hours after birth (d1), at one (w1) and two (w2) weeks and at one month (m1) of age were included. In addition, we included maternal samples obtained from the vagina (at 35 weeks gestational age), nasopharynx (transoral sample), saliva, faeces and skin (2 weeks after childbirth) and breastmilk (longitudinally collected at one week one, two and month one). We analyzed in total 2,319 samples collected from 120 mother-infant pairs (median 19.5, range 5-25 samples/mother-infant pair). Part of the sequence data were already included with other Bioprojects.
