Metagenome, MAGs and metatranscriptomes of intertidal surface sediments, Janssand/German Wadden Sea (2015)

The German Wadden Sea is among the largest intertidal wetlands of the planet. Physicochemical parameters strongly fluctuate during tidal cycles, in particular in sandy sediments.We sequenced a metagenome from the suboxic transition zone, assembled and binned MAGs. Furthermore, we aimed at unravelling the transcriptional activity of the microbial community in a vertical profile during low tide. To this end, we sampled three sediment layers in triplicate (cores A-C) in July 2015. Two runs of PE reads per replicate have been performed, yielding 36 files with non-interleaved Illumina HiSeq2500 reads.Important note: RNA extracts have been spiked with E. coli K12 RNA, which needs to be removed from datasets!
