This study employs semi-structured interviews to explore how food engineering students at a Chinese higher education institution perceive and interact with AI-driven food advertising. The interviews aim to understand how students, as both informed professionals and vulnerable consumers, interpret and respond to AI-powered marketing strategies. The discussion focuses on students' awareness of advertising accuracy, skepticism toward health claims, and concerns about data privacy and algorithmic manipulation. Additionally, the interviews seek to identify students' needs and expectations for AI literacy education, providing insights for the development of human-centered, practice-oriented educational approaches in higher education.
