Chromothripsis and chromoanasynthesis are one-off catastrophic events leading to clustered genomic rearrangements. Whole-genome sequencing showed frequent chromothripsis or chromoanasynthesis in brain tumors developing in mice deficient for Homologous-Recombination-Repair or Non-Homologous-End-Joining factors (n= 27).
