Budgets and accounts of the municipalities, 2009

Statistics Denmark has since 1977 received and stored informations about the municipal and county budgets electronically. As a result of the Structural Reform, which came into force in 2007, the municipal and county budget and accounting system has been revised. The budget and accounting system for the municipalities has been simplified and adjusted new tasks and has in some areas has moved place in the chart of accounts for the sake of a more logic structure. The regions have gotten their own budget and accounting system which builds upon the original principles of the joint municipal and county budget and accounting system.
